  1. Asset allocation - diversifying your portfolio across different asset classes.

  2. Diversification - not having all of your money in a few stocks, bonds, or other investments.

  3. Active vs. passive - tracking a certain segment of the market or a more active management approach.

  4. Rebalancing - your strategy for adjusting your investment approach when one portion of your investments change.

  5. Do it yourself - this is the step where you need to decide how much you want to be involved in your financial management.
