  • How to see the fees you’re actually paying and how high fees significantly cut into good interest rates.

  • The big difference between fee-only and commission-based financial advisors.

  • Why the old saying “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is” should be your investment mantra.

  • The inside scoop on variable annuities, cash-value life insurance, and cryptocurrency.

  • How to spot a Ponzi scheme and stay far away.

  • How to build wealth by hitting consistent “singles and doubles” so you don’t need the “home runs.”

  • Why “fee-only” advisors are the wise way to go.

  • The danger of “illiquid” funds.

  • How financial advisors can earn and preserve a good reputation.

  • How to set up your estate and organize your account information before you die.

  • The power of diversification.

  • How to avoid the “pump and dump.”

  • How to work with an advisor who’ll help you minimize taxes, develop an investment plan, and stay the course.

  • What your advisor should be doing for you once you retire.

About the Author

Ryan Morrissey is a Fee-Only Financial Planner and speaker who specializes in helping people over 50 develop and implement a solid and reliable plan for retirement.

After graduating from the University of Delaware, he started his Financial Advisor career with Morgan Stanley. After making it through the 2008 financial crisis bruised but hopeful, he realized that he could better serve his clients if he were independent.

In 2010, he transitioned to an independent Financial Advisor affiliated with LPL Financial. While he continued doing the work he loved, he knew he could do more.

After years of consideration, he finally stepped out on his own in 2018 to form Morrissey Wealth Management and become a Fee-Only Financial Planner. Today, he’s proud to be a full-time fiduciary for his clients.

Ryan lives in Cheshire, Connecticut with his wife and two kids.
